In 2013, Florida?s population reached 19,318,859 residents, a 1.5 percent
increase from the 2012 population of 19,042,458.

Since 1970, Florida?s population has more than doubled. The population has
risen by 48.3 percent since 1990 and 20.2 percent since 2000.

In 2013, whites accounted for 78.3 percent of the population, and blacks
accounted for 16.6 percent of the population. Additionally, Hispanics
accounted for 23.5 percent of the population.

A Florida Resident born in 2013 can expected to live 79.3 years. Since 1970,
life expectancy at birth has increased by 8.2 years from 71.1 years.

Compared to 2012, life expectancy increased for black males and remained
constant for black females. White male?s life expectancy increased and life
expectancy for white females did not change. Hispanic males and Hispanic
females life expectancy increased in 2013.

Women of all races and ethnicities are expected to live longer than men.
